I don't do New Year's resolutions.  Why set myself up for one big failure just once a year when instead every day is a fresh chance to set unrealistic goals for myself, and have dozens of little failures every year?

The flip side on, well, the flip side...
It also means that I can't think maybe I should eat less, exercise more, be more patient, work harder, get a job, swear less,  whatever, and that I will get right on that next January 1.

So I don't make New Year's resolutions so I haven't broken any.  I did, however, get an elliptical trainer in January and so far I have used it almost every day.  On the other hand, it took me two months to get around to gathering some of the information we need to file taxes this year, so I guess any sort of "get better at dealing with onerous shit" resolution is still far in my future.

So...Are you a resolver?  Did you resolve and how long did it last/has it lasted?

And, bonus question, what the fuck is going on with the Republican party?  Will they survive the current crises intact, or is the branding as the Rush Limbaugh party, the seeming ineptitude of Michael Steele, being the party of obstruction and delay, all that stuff be the kiss of death to the modern Republican party?
